{What I Wore Wednesday} The Wedding Edition

What a FUN idea for an anniversary post! I'm linking up to What I Wore, Wedding Edition...an idea that Megan from Absolute Mommy came up with to celebrate her 7th wedding anniversary! And just how much fun is that? Now today, I'm only going to show you a few pictures of the wedding, focused mainly on "what I wore" because I'm planning on partying with Amber from Sneakers Over Stilettos in June for a similar anniversary party, since my wedding anniversary also happens to be in June! Stay tuned and I'll keep you posted on when that fun post is up!

Ohhhhhh...how I LOVED this dress! I was fortunate that one of my best friend's mother owned a lovely little  bridal boutique, called Magic Wand Bridal, at the time. I started out there, tried on every different style imaginable until I figured out I wanted a strapless dress. I then went to a large boutique in downtown Phoenix to try every designer imaginable in that style. I wanted a big Cinderella ballgown, but when I tried them on, they swallowed me up. I guess this 5'3" frame wasn't meant to be in a ballgown. Then I cam across this beauty. Simple, elegant, and a modified sweetheart neckline that I just adored. I guess like they say, you just know when you see it.

|| The Shoes :: Liz Rene Couture - Angelina ||
The shoes, also perfect! I chose the Liz Rene - Anglina in a mid-heel in ivory. I didn't want much of a heel for both comfort and to not make me too tall. My husband is taller than me (not hard to do), but I wanted to make sure that our true height was shown in pictures, not me being close to his height.

|| The Bouquet :: Kabloom ||
Well I heard that this lovely little flower shop closed, and it's just too bad. My friend Rebecca and I visited some fancy shmancy (yes, that's a word) florists who wanted to charge thousands of dollars to pull off what we had in mind. However, we took those ideas to Kabloom and they were able to pull it off for half the price of what others were quoting. And the flowers were beautiful! My bouquet had white mini calla lilies, Eskimo ivory roses, green cymbidium, and sage green seeded eucalyptus berries as accents.

|| The Tiara & Veil :: Magic Wand Bridal ||
Once I had the dress and shoes, I moved on to what I was going to wear with it. During my first fitting at Magic Wand Bridal, I tried on a few different tiaras and veils that she had in stock. It was really the best way for me to find the combination that I loved. My hair was done by one of my best friends and forever-stylist Ambre. If you're in the Phoenix area ladies, she works at the Dolce at Borgata in Scottsdale and is amazing! And finally the earrings I found at Dillards and were really the only jewelry other than my rings that I chose to wear.

It was a lovely and memorable day, and it was so fun to share a part of it with you! I'm looking forward to sharing more in June...stay tuned!
